What exactly is a “millennial”? Well, according to Forbes we
have the largest wallet power, mobile technology is close to our hearts and we
seek experiences and adventure...or a bunch of infographics pegging us as the following:
I, on the other hand, would have to say we’re social media obsessed,
overachievers with big dreams and small bank accounts—or am I just talking
about myself?
I’ve started this blog in the hopes that it will help me
swim through these muddy waters that I like to call my 25th year—aka
my quarter life crisis. Over the past 4 months, in true millennial fashion, I’ve
started to reevaluate and reconsider my life. Mind you, I have a full time job
in an industry I love, an apartment of my own and a group of pretty great
friends, (I’m sure the question you’re asking yourself is “wtf is wrong with
you?”) but for some reason, I’ve felt that nagging feeling of being stuck. That
there’s so much more out there—a challenging and (higher paying) job, more friends
with similar interests, cities with limitless possibilities and constant adventure. Which could very well be the result of my severe case of FOMO.
So day in and day out I make lists upon lists of “Dream Jobs”
“Places to visit” “Apartments I can never afford” and “Clothing I must have
right now”. However, that’s the peak of their existence… lists and lists…and
you guessed it, more lists, but never anything more. So that’s where this blog
comes in—a personal checklist a reinforcer, if you will. That in order to get
anywhere, to do anything, you must take action.
So with all of that mumble jumble, I present to you my 25th
year in which I hope you can relate and learn with me along the way as I
venture into creating the best version of my millennial life.
